WHO CAN APPLY:

Community members who are …

  • challenged by a physical or developmental disability,
  • homeless or at risk of becoming homeless due to extreme financial burdens, or
  • from another country and cannot find employment due to lack of employment opportunities.

WHAT WE OFFER:

Our job skills training program will allow individuals to learn computer, retail, and marketing skills by assisting us with sorting, pricing, selling, and listing items on this website. Upon completion of this program, individuals will receive a certificate and letter of reference to assist them in their job search.
 
 

 

OPPORTUNITIES:

The goal of the job skills training program is for volunteer trainees to learn a set of vocational skills within a specified amount of time so they will have more opportunities to become employable or find volunteer positions within the community in which they live. Trainees will have the opportunity to learn
merchandising, computer, marketing, and social skills. Some tasks trainees will fulfill are:

  • Receiving and organizing donations,IMG_2245
  • Cleaning donations as needed,
  • Repairing items as needed,
  • Researching prices,
  • Sorting and pricing inventory in our on-site shop,
  • Photographing products,
  • Uploading and editing photos,
  • Adding content to the website,
  • Writing product descriptions.
